Two programs. Two age groups. One mission — to close the opportunity gap through hands-on STEAM education that builds the six competencies every student needs to thrive.
A full-service summer STEAM program that blends academics, enrichment, and social-emotional learning. Designed specifically for underserved students in mixed-age classrooms — with a curriculum built around choice, creativity, and acceleration.
Camp Katy's curriculum is built around the 6 Cs of 21st-century education — weaving them into every project, activity, and session so students build competencies without even knowing it.
Students present projects, share ideas, and learn to articulate their thinking — building confidence in every voice, regardless of background or reading level.
Mixed-age classrooms teach students to lead, follow, listen, and build together. Every major project is a team effort — modeled after real-world work environments.
Through STEAM challenges and project-based inquiry, students learn to observe, question, hypothesize, and refine — the same loop that drives scientific discovery.
Art and STEAM are taught as one. Students design, make, iterate, and present — discovering that creativity is a skill, not a talent, and that it belongs in every discipline.
SEL is woven throughout. Students develop perseverance, emotional regulation, and integrity — not as separate lessons but as natural outcomes of doing hard, meaningful work.
Students connect their work to community. They learn that what they make and do matters — to their neighbors, their school, and the world beyond the classroom.
Camp Katy's academic backbone is the Bamboo Curriculum™ — NuMinds Enrichment's proprietary model, built on storytelling, project-based learning, and an inductive-science approach. Education Unbound holds a major ownership stake in NuMinds, and 10% of NuMinds' profits flow directly into EdU's programs. The curriculum isn't just licensed — it's ours.
Built-in options for choice and accelerated materials mean no student is bored and no student is left behind. Literacy and numeracy fluency are reinforced through every project — students grow 1–2 grade levels over a single summer.
Science, technology, engineering, art, and math are taught as interconnected disciplines — not siloed subjects. Students tackle real challenges with real tools and leave with real work to show for it.
Mindfulness, emotional regulation, and relationship skills are woven throughout the day — not delivered as a separate class. Research shows SEL-integrated programs produce significantly better academic and behavioral outcomes.
Grades 2–6 learn side by side, guided by trained Inspirators who are specialists in working with underserved students. Older students develop leadership; younger students accelerate through peer modeling.

A year-round college and career readiness program for high schoolers in underserved communities. Students build portfolios, earn mentorship, develop real professional skills, and graduate with a clear path — whether that's college, a career, or both.
Only 32% of Texas underserved high school graduates earn a postsecondary credential. Future Bound changes that — by giving students the 21st-century skills, professional experience, and mentorship they need to close that gap.
Students work on real STEAM projects — from engineering challenges to creative technology — building a portfolio of work that demonstrates skills to colleges and employers.
Guided support through the college application process, financial aid, career exploration, and the professional world — with mentors who have been there.
Rooted in the 6 Cs and NeuroArts research, this track helps students discover creative practice as a lifelong tool — for wellbeing, self-expression, and professional differentiation.
Every Future Bound student is matched with a mentor from our professional network. Monthly sessions, real-world exposure, and the kind of social capital that changes outcomes.
Fill out a short interest form or have a school counselor refer you. Future Bound is open to all high school students (grades 9–12) in underserved communities in North Texas. No prior experience required.
You'll have a brief conversation with a program coordinator to understand your goals, choose your track, and get matched with a mentor. This usually happens within one week of your application.
Join your cohort, meet your mentor, and begin. Year-round programming means you can start any semester. The sooner you begin, the more time you have to build the portfolio and relationships that open doors.
Both programs have limited spots each cycle. Reach out now to learn about availability, scholarships, and next start dates.

Yes — students in grades 9–12 can join at any point in the school year. Earlier is better for portfolio and college prep outcomes, but it's never too late to start building skills and connections.
We track academic growth, participation rates, social-emotional outcomes, and post-program pathways. Camp Katy students have shown 1–2 grade level academic growth in a single summer and 3× literacy fluency gains. Through our NeuroArts research partnership, we also study the wellbeing and psychological impact of creative practice on our students.
